One of world football's most renowned against, Mino Raiola, died Saturday morning at the age of 54, according to reports. Premature reports of the super agent's death had surfaced earlier in the week, though those close to Raiola insisted at the time that he was still alive. Unfortunately, his family announced Saturday that he'd passed away, though they didn't share a cause of death.

Raiola's family released the statement via his official Twitter account, during which they thanked people for their support and asked for privacy while they mourn their loss. Raiola was being cared for at San Raffaele hospital in Milan, Italy when he passed on Saturday.

Raiola, according to the Guardian, was battling an illness since January, and his condition took a significant decline earlier this week. Premature reports had surfaced declaring the 54-year-old had died during the week, which prompted Dr. Alberto Zangrillo to clear the air regarding the misinformation being spread.

The super agent's client list is something to marvel at, in and of itself. He's the agent for some of the biggest names in world football, including Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Juventus CB Mattias de Ligt, and PSG's Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti, some of whom are expected to complete major transfer moves this summer.

The loss of Raiola will certainly shock the football world, as he's become one of the most renowned agents in the sport's history throughout his 30+ years working the job.
