Nigel Sanders, the son of the renowned NFL legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Barry Sanders, proudly graduated from Howard University this past Saturday. The news was shared with the world through an Instagram post by Barry Sanders himself, with two pictures showcasing the Sanders family celebrating Nigel's achievement.
“Congrats to my son @nigelsanjaisanders on graduating @howard1867 – So proud of you,” Sanders wrote on the post.

Nigel is one of Sanders' four sons. According to his LinkedIn profile, Nigel Sanders seemed to be pursuing studies in music production and design at Howard University. Nigel is carving out a promising music career, showcasing his work on different streaming platforms and YouTube. Notably, he has chosen to diverge from the family tradition by not following a path in sports, carving out a new lane in the Sanders family legacy.
Barry James, the eldest son of Sanders, showcased his skills as a running back during his time at Stanford and Oklahoma State. On the other hand, Nick Sanders excels on the basketball court, representing Michigan State. Meanwhile, Noah Sanders, a talented running back, is gearing up for his senior season and has already secured a college offer from the University of Toledo.
Nigel Sanders, among the group of children of celebrities, made a notable decision to embark on thier their collegiate journeys at HBCUs. This group includes the eldest children of actor Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker, along with the offspring of writer/comedian Chris Spencer, who successfully completed their first year at Howard University. Additionally, the daughter of rapper and Love & Hip Hop star Lil' Scrappy recently wrapped up her freshman year at Savannah State University. Rapper Trick Daddy's son graduated from Florida A&M last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Pastor Jamal Bryant and Gizelle Bryant have three future HBCU success stories in their family. Their eldest daughter Grace recently finished her first year at Florida A&M and their twin daughters Angel and Adore are both attending HBCUs. Angel is set to attend Spelman College and Adore is attending Hampton University.
