San Antonio Spurs guard Bryn Forbes was carried off with a calf injury in their game against the Detroit Pistons.

Early in the first quarter, the 6-foot-3 guard got caught under Blake Griffin while diving for a loose ball. He got injured in the process, with what was initially thought as an ankle injury.

According to the latest update, however, Forbes suffered a right calf contusion and was eventually listed as questionable to return in the game.

Bryn Forbes has taken on starting point guard duties for the Spurs this season. He was inserted into the position after Dejounte Murray went down with a season-ending injury in October. Through 62 games (61 starts), the 25-year-old is averaging 11.9 points per game, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 28.6 minutes.

It's safe to say conclude that the Spurs are having a nightmare of a season. Injuries, especially in the point guard spot, have certainly affected their performance.

As of this writing, the Spurs are eighth in the Western Conference. Their playoff fate will be determined by their own performance as well as those vying for the final playoff spot. These teams include the Sacramento Kings, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans.

With another player hurt, how can the Spurs cope? Will this be the first time in over two decades that we'll experience a Spurs-less playoffs?
