Dejounte Murray has ascended into greatness. The San Antonio Spurs guard has always flashed the potential to be a star in the NBA, but inconsistency has held him back. This season, though, Murray has been electric all throughout the season, being the lone bright spot on a struggling team.

The Spurs' All-Star guard put on a magnificent show against the Atlanta Hawks, making franchise records never before seen in their storied history. Dejounte Murray became the first Spurs player to post a 30-point, 15-assist, 10-rebound triple double in franchise history, and eclipsed David Robinson on the franchise' triple-double leaderboard. Murray's breakout year has been phenomenal. The lanky guard was known in his early years to be a defensive specialist, but he showed flashes of what he can be offensively. This season, the Spurs star has found a way to combine offense and defense, averaging career-highs in nearly every counting stat.

Murray initially didn't make the All-Star Game, much to the chagrin of Spurs fans. However, Draymond Green's injury paved the way for their star to be selected as an alternate, lending more credibility to his already amazing season. The sky's the limit for this guy, and it will be interesting to see where his career goes from here.

It's been a down year for the Spurs this season. After making the play-in stages last season, they have struggled immensely (mainly due to losing star DeMar DeRozan in free agency to the Bulls). Despite the misfortunes this team has today, they can at least look forward to seeing Murray blossom into a bona fide stud.
