The momentum initially looked like it belonged to Doncic and the Mavericks. After all, in the prior possession, Doncic tied the game with a calm and collected teardrop layup coming off a smooth Euro step. NBA fans know that Doncic has the clutch gene in him. So it was almost certain that he'll deliver during the tensest moments of a tight game against the Spurs.

However, the Spurs, too know about Doncic's antics. After the Slovenian tied the game, Gregg Popovich and the crew set up a play for the last shot. They don't want Doncic to have another crack at the basket. Fortunately, things panned out for the Spurs. DeRozan dribbled the time out, sized up his defender, and hit the dagger.
