San Antonio Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan's jump shot looks improved, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

DeRozan has never been a reliable 3-point shooter, but it looks like that's an area of his game he worked on this summer.

One source who saw DeRozan work out this summer in Los Angeles told The Athletic that his shooting looks improved and his mindset will benefit from a full summer to digest the knowledge gained after a year in Gregg Popovich’s system.

In his first season with the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan averaged 21.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists. The All-Star shot 48.1 percent from the field, just 15.6 percent from beyond the arc and 83.0 percent from the free-throw line.

San Antonio is getting starting point guard Dejounte Murray back this season, which means DeRozan will get to focus on scoring the ball even more. Murray missed the entire 2018-19 campaign with an ACL injury.

The Spurs expect DeRozan's second year in their system to be even better. Nothing is set in stone, but the Spurs will likely start Murray, Derrick White, DeRozan, Rudy Gay and LaMarcus Aldridge this season. On paper, that’s a pretty good starting five.

San Antonio will ultimately go as far as DeRozan and Aldridge can take them.
