Tim Duncan and San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich have a special bond. The two won five NBA championships together and had a coach-player relationship that everyone dreams of having. Duncan won two MVP awards as a Spur, three Finals MVPs and is arguably the greatest power forward of all time.

Because of their strong relationship, Popovich is able to bash Duncan in a jokingly fashion from time to time. The Spurs coach told reporters on Friday that he's “a little tired” of Duncan, who is an assistant coach on the Spurs.

In 1,392 games with the Spurs, Duncan averaged 19.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 50.6 percent from the field. When Duncan can give you advice about the game, you take it.

Duncan is helping LaMarcus Aldridge grow his game as a post player, even though Aldridge is a seven-time All-Star. Having Duncan around DeMar DeRozan, Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker, Derrick White, Rudy Gay and the other core players on the Spurs is also going to be beneficial for the team, even though San Antonio has gotten off to a disappointing 5-10 start.

The Spurs are in danger of missing the playoffs this season. They have to turn things around quickly since the West is so rugged.
