Legendary San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich shared his idea for the dress code for NBA coaches.

Per Ben Golliver of Washington Post, Popovich wants to wear sweatsuits instead of the ties and coats that coaches are required to wear during games. He even pointed out how head coaches of other professional sports don't have to wear suits and ties.

“I just wish we were in sweatsuits. I’m a big proponent of gym shoes and nice looking sweat suits so you don’t have to worry about ties and coats and all that stuff.”

Popovich raises a good point. In American football, coaches just wear sweatsuits and sneakers. The same is true with baseball managers. As such, they're able to move comfortably around the field. Their minds are focused on the game and not what they're wearing. Popovich simply wants to feel comfortable when he's out there on the floor. Besides, it's probably what he wears on a normal day.

But knowing the NBA, it probably wouldn't seriously consider Popovich's dress code idea. Just recall the time when former NBA commissioner David Stern imposed a dress code for players. The league has since relaxed its rules and given NBA players more freedom in wearing what they want to wear.

Time will only tell if it'll apply to coaches as well.
