For San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, rest is the last thing his team needs amid a lengthy losing skid

We don't need any time off. We have it, we don't need it. We want to just keep playing,” Popovich said following the Spurs' 132-120 road loss to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, per Tom Orsborn of The San Antonio Express-News.

With their loss to the reigning NBA champions, Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs' winless streak has reached 12 games. For what it's worth, that is still not the worst active losing skid in the NBA, with the Detroit Pistons taking an L in each of their last 13 outings.

The Spurs have three days to fix their issues and get it together before seeing action again on Thursday versus the Atlanta Hawks at home. With relatively ample time to rest up, the Spurs can only hope that the break will be beneficial to the team.

It's clear that the Spurs, even with Wembanyama, have a long way to go before they can be viewed as a legitimate playoff contender. On the season, San Antonio is 23rd in the league with just 110.5 points per game, while their defense is ranked third-worst with 123.4 points surrendered per outing. That is not a good look at all for San Antonio.

The promise is definitely there for the Spurs, but it's just not their time yet.

Still, ending a drought is a far easier mission to accomplish than making the playoffs or winning the NBA title, so Popovich that the Spurs will finally be able to snap out of their slump as soon as the Hawks game.
