After the San Antonio Spurs traded Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks for basically a slew of first-round picks, one of the biggest questions was Gregg Popovich's thoughts on the matter. Surely, he knew what the deal meant for the team and their future

According to Mike Finger of the San Antonio Express-News, though, Coach Pop gave his blessing on the trade. The veteran tactician is also said to be ready for the challenge of coaching a really young squad next season.

While Finger did highlight that Gregg Popovich is excited about the opportunity to coach a rebuilding Spurs squad filled with young players, his return is not yet guaranteed. As reported earlier as well, there are speculations that fans have seen the last of Coach Pop on the San Antonio bench.

Since the Spurs are projected to be one of the worse teams in the NBA next season, the general belief is it could be the perfect time for Popovich to pass the torch to his successor.

A lot can happen in free agency and the offseason, and Coach Pop's decision is certainly one to watch out for. The Spurs have a bright future with the talent and assets they have, but it remains to be seen whether the longtime San Antonio tactician will be there to guide them.
