Apart from being one of the best coaches in NBA history, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is also known for his sarcastic quips. It varies from stone-faced replies to reporters, one-worded answers to lengthy questions, and recently, cheering the opposing team on.

As posted by TMZSports, Popovich said “Go Warriors” while riding out a car after their loss Game 2 to the Golden State Warriors. Below is the video:

Of course, people who don't know Pop will interpret his comments in a different manner. His players, too, understand such antics. While they are down 2-0 to the powerhouse Warriors, he's still committed to competing and giving the Spurs a fighting chance.

In fact, Popovich was quick to spot what went wrong for the Spurs in their loss: the ball just wouldn't go in. As reported by Michael C. Wright of ESPN, Pop said:

“I was pleased with them tonight,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said of his players. “They executed the game plan wonderfully. Their physicality was great. We were aggressive, played very well. But the ball has to go in the basket. That's the difference in the ballgame. They shot [48.4] percent from 3. I don't know what we shot — 14 percent, 4-for-28. That's tough to overcome.”

He added that making shots where they're on the road has been a challenge all season long. Though the clip shows Pop cheering the Warriors on, deep in his heart, he hopes that the Spurs can get off their shooting slump.

Game 3 will be in San Antonio on Thursday.
