Star Oklahoma left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. has declared for the 2018 NFL Draft. Brown made the big announcement via his Twitter account, a few days after the Sooners were knocked out of the College Football Playoff following a 54-48 double overtime defeat to Georgia in the Rose Bowl.

“After talking things over with my family and coaches, I will be declaring early for the NFL Draft. It’s been an amazing 4 years here. I wouldn’t want to be a part of any other university. Thank you Sooner Nation!!!”

Brown started every game at left tackle for the Sooners since the first game of his redshirt freshman year in 2015. He had one more year of NCAA eligibility remaining, but he has decided to forego that extra year to turn pro.

Brown is the son of former NFL offensive tackle Orlando Brown Sr. The elder Brown played for the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens in two different stints each during his nine-year NFL career.

Brown Sr. famously suffered an eye injury after being struck by an official’s penalty flag. He missed three seasons due to the injury before returning to play three more years with the Ravens from 2003-05. He passed away in 2011 due to complications from diabetes.

Brown Jr. is considered one of the best offensive line prospects in the draft and has the potential to be a first-round pick.
