Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was not amused at all when Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette posted a tweet which came with the insinuation that the star wideout could be hurt.

In reaction to that, Brown questioned the legitimacy of how Bouchette gathers his info, while also calling the reporter a “clown.”

Bouchette, however, is far from a clown in the field of covering team sports. He has been reporting about the Steelers for decades and was even honored at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In other words, Bouchette is a respected figure in his craft, so Brown’s profanity-laced tirade against the writer is a bit shocking, to say the least.

It was earlier reported that Brown hurt his quad in training camp, but was able to make his way back to practice on Saturday, suggesting that he’s just fine. If anything, Bouchette probably just miscalculated his observation of Brown while watching the Steelers practice from the sidelines.

Bouchette also made a follow-up tweet to clarify that there’s nothing wrong with Brown.

Brown was not able to see action in the Steelers’ preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, though, Pittsburgh did not really need him on the field, as they blew the defending Super Bowl champions out of the water on their way to a 31-14 victory.

It’s unclear yet whether Brown will be deployed this Thursday in a road game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
