Fan bases of both the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders were all at the edge of their seats for the overtime finale that decided their playoff fates. But towards the end, probably nobody was more nervous than fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Anyone who watched the game should know by now that a tie would have resulted in both the Chargers and Raiders advancing to the playoffs, and the Steelers getting ousted out of their postseason berth.

But thanks to some clutch plays and late-game decision-making from the Raiders side, they went for the win on a field goal that saved the Steelers' season.

Steelers players, like star defensive tackle Cam Heyward, were avidly paying attention to the contest, for obvious reasons, and tweeting out their reactions in real time. After the deadlock was ultimately broken, Heyward had a message for all the fans who were calling out for a tie.

“For the ones that want a TIE don’t understand the competitor of players. You in it to win it,” said the Steelers Pro Bowler.

While it's easy to say that in hindsight, there was a brief moment where it did look like the Raiders considered simply running out the clock and bless the Chargers with a tie after their fierce battle, apparently if not for a late-game timeout.

But at the end of the day, the didn't come to fruition as the Raiders and Steelers both advance to the postseason.
