The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their undefeated season at the hands of the Washington Football Team on Monday, but tight end Eric Ebron thinks it will ultimately serve to better the team.

Ebron said on the “17 Weeks” podcast he feels losses help teams grow stronger and discover what the unit is really about:

“I’m happy because these losses are identity builders, are test makers, are adversity builders, are team builders,” Ebron said, via ESPN's Brooke Pryor. “So it’s going to be fun to see how we respond, how we attack it.”

Perhaps the best part of the loss is the Steelers no longer have to deal with the weight of “16-0” talk late into the year.

Still, Ebron's words also underscore the problems Pittsburgh has had in the past couple games, notably on the offensive side of the football.

The Steelers have been lost without starting running back James Conner. Pittsburgh has rushed for under 100 yards in the last two weeks, including a measly 21 yards against Washington.

But the passing game has not been as efficient as usual, either. Drops have become a high-profile problem, and Ebron is one of the main culprits.

The former Pro Bowler has been an offensive weapon for the Steelers, with close to 500 yards receiving and four touchdowns. But he also has seven drops.

Unfortunately for the Steelers, this is not a singular problem. Diontae Johnson—as explosive as he has been—leads the team with 10 drops.

Pittsburgh will have to find more steadiness and regain its offensive mojo, especially as the Steelers prepare for the high-scoring Buffalo Bills this weekend.
