NFL analyst Jay Glazer recently made some comments regarding Pittsburgh Steelers' star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. More specifically, he commented on Roethlisberger's fitness.

Glazer seemed to mock how the quarterback works out. Technically, he talked about the lack of working out that typifies Roethlisberger's routine.

He's already walked back those comments. Now he's going a step further. In this week's mailbag with The Athletic, Glazer says he called the quarterback and talked about the comments.

“Now, as far as Roethlisberger, I called Ben, I talked to him about it as a man because if I think someone is going to be upset about something that I said I’m going to call him. My statement about Ben got pulled way out of whack as if I was talking about his current rehab. Where did I say anything about his current rehab? I never did. What I wrote was: ‘His idea of a great off-season workout program is doing one yoga session, playing golf, and drinking some beer.' I was making fun of him for his past workouts, which he’d readily admitted had been him in the past. In fact, when I called him I said, ‘Yes, this is your yoga, golf and beer instructor calling' because he and I often bust each other’s balls.”

So basically, Glazer was having some fun with Roethlisberger. And to be fair to him, he never did comment on what the quarterback was currently doing to rehab. He just made a comment about what Roethlisberger's idea of a great offseason workout is.

And let's be honest, that would be a great offseason workout plan if it worked. Who wouldn't love something like that?

It's easy to rip on Glazer for the comments at first glance. It was likely him just having some fun with the quarterback. And it seems that's how Roethlisberger took it as well.
