It appeared the Pittsburgh Steelers had turned the tide on the Green Bay Packers at the end of the first half of Sunday's Week 4 tilt. Packers kicker Mason Crosby lined up for a chip-shot field goal to go up 17-10, only for it to be blocked and returned for a touchdown by Minkah Fitzpatrick. However, Steelers cornerback Joe Haden was flagged for an offside penalty, wiping out the touchdown and giving Crosby another chance for Green Bay to go up 17-10 at the break.

Crosby made the field goal, and the Packers wound up winning 27-17. It was a huge swing in the game that possibly altered the outcome.

Needless to say, the call was rather controversial. The replay shows just how close this was, with Haden seemingly timing up the snap just about perfectly:

Haden himself declared that he didn't commit an infraction after the game:

While this was a bang-bang call, it's understandable for Haden and the Steelers to be upset about this given it was a game-changing swing. Instead of being up 17-14 with all the momentum going into halftime, Pittsburgh had to lick its wounds down a touchdown.

Perhaps Aaron Rodgers and the Packers would have still pulled out a win anyway. Ben Roethlisberger has really struggled at quarterback this season, and the Steelers didn't do much offensively after an impressive touchdown drive in the first quarter put them up 7-0.

Still, you have to wonder just how this game would have played out if that touchdown return was allowed to stand. Pittsburgh will never know, and Big Ben's crew is now a disappointing 1-3 on the 2021 season after a massive win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. The Steelers need to turn things around, and fast.
