The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a great loss when coach Darryl Drake suddenly passed away on August 11. It clearly hit the team hard (as you would expect) and someone who seemed to really struggle with it was star wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Smith-Schuster has been an absolutely fantastic receiver since being drafted in 2017. He had a solid rookie year that season, and followed it up with a ridiculous 111 reception season (added in 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns) in 2018.

Now he might be facing the toughest challenge yet. The death clearly hit Smith-Schuster hard, and he finally addressed the tragedy on Wednesday. You can't blame him for taking time to grieve.

What Smith-Schuster said was extremely touching though. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Steelers' wide receiver will be wearing wristbands in honor of his late coach. Drake apparently had a saying each day. He'd give the players a quote each day as a point of inspiration.

The last quote he ever gave to them was “Never choose good when great is available”. That saying is now on the wristbands that Smith-Schuster is wearing.

There's no doubt in anyone's mind that Smith-Schuster is poised for a big year. He's now the top dog at receiver with Antonio Brown gone, and could find a way to put up even more ridiculous numbers than he has in the past.

It's sad, but tragedies like these that remind everyone what really matters. In the end, football is just a game. A game that brings a lot of people together and creates family that you never knew you had. For JuJu Smith-Schuster, he's lost someone that meant a whole lot to him.

With these wristbands, it's nice to see he'll always have him close by.
