The Pittsburgh Steelers demolished the Cleveland Browns in Week 6 with a 38-7 victory at home, but it came at a price. The Steelers have lost their starting linebacker, Devin Bush, for the rest of the year with an ACL tear, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The 10th overall pick from last year's draft recorded 21 tackles in four games this year but has been an integral piece to this dominant Steelers defense.
The Steelers currently rank third in the NFL in total yards allowed (301.5 per game), sixth in points allowed per game (21.8), and fourth in yards allowed per play (five). Bush has been excellent swarming the ball and negating any YAC against vs the pass and is a big reason why their yards allowed per play is so low. His speed and strength also makes him one of the best run stopping linebackers in the NFL.
This will be a major blow for this Steelers defense. Expect rotational linebackers, Marcus Allen and Ulysees Gilbert III to fill in for the Steelers.
The Steelers are set to play in Tennessee next week against the league's best power back, Derrick Henry. Henry displayed what he can do against an injury-riddled linebacking core in Week 6 against the Texans.
The Texans were without starting linebacker Bernardrick Mckinney (shoulder) and Henry took full advantage. He ran for 212 yards on 9.6 yards per carry and two touchdowns, including a ridiculous 94-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
There couldn't have been a more inopportune time to lose one of their best run-stoppers.
The Steelers sit at 5-0 and lead the AFC North. They hope to continue their winning ways despite losing one of their defensive centerpieces.
