During his appeal Cleveland Browns franchise defensive end Myles Garrett said Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph used a racial slur against him, which sparked the fight and eventually indefinite suspension.

After looking into the allegation, the NFL deemed there was no evidence to substantiate Garrett's claim.

Because Garrett lost his appeal, his indefinite suspension stands and he will be able to apply for reinstatement once the 2019 season comes to an end. Garrett will also be fined $45,623.

Rudolph and his league team adamantly denied the claim the second-year quarterback used a racial slur, and many of Rudolph's teammates came to defend him.

While Rudolph is still penalty-free from the incident, it appears he will receive a fine in the immediate future. Rudolph was the first to begin the brawl between him and Garrett, which escalated to multiple teammates.

Steelers offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey also appealed his three-game suspension, which was reduced to two games. Pouncey will be unavailable to play on December 1, when the two teams meet for a rematch in Pittsburgh.

Missing Garrett for the rest of the season will be a big loss for the Browns, as they currently fight for one of the two Wild Card spots in the AFC.

Cleveland is coming off two big wins against Conference opponents but still remains third place in the AFC North. The teams December 1 rematch against the Steelers will be a huge game in the playoff race.

Cleveland will also take on the Cincinnati Bengals twice, Miami Dolphins, and Arizona Cardinals in the last part of their season.
