The parents of the late Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, are not attending his funeral in Pittsburgh on Friday.

Kalabrya Haskins, the wife of the Steelers signal-caller, confirmed in a statement last week that funeral services for her husband would be held April 22 at the at the Allegheny Center Alliance Church in Pittsburgh.

Unfortunately, Haskins' parents opted to not attend the wake because they haven't met Kalabrya before and felt it's the wrong time to meet her for the first time.

“We have never met or spoken to the wife, and we didn’t want our son’s funeral service to be the place we met her for the first time,” Dwayne Haskins Sr. and Tamara Haskins told USA Today.

To make up for their absence, Dwayne Haskins' parents said they will hold two other funeral services for their son, per WUSA9: on Saturday in New Brunswick, New Jersey and another one Sunday in Potomac, Maryland.

The former Steelers and Washington Commanders QB was born in New Jersey and then later grew up in Maryland.

Haskins tragically passed away earlier this April after being hit by a dump truck in South Florida. Recent details revealed that he was crossing the highway because he was looking for gas. Unfortunately, the accident occurred.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Kalabrya Haskins, Dwayne Haskins Sr., Tamara Haskins and the rest of the family.
