It has been a couple of days since the Golden State Warriors won the 2017 NBA title, which has begun the progressive shift over to the offseason when the team will have a few major questions to address in free agency.
One of the biggest priorities will be re-signing two-time MVP Stephen Curry, who is set to enter the open market as an unrestricted free agent. In light of that, Curry on Wednesday gave some insight to what his potential plans will be in the negotiation process on a new deal with the Warriors, according to Anthony Slater of The Mercury News.
“As we go into talks and this whole process — which is obviously new for me — I will approach it as getting the most as I can as an individual, as a player, something I’ve been working for for a very long time,” Curry said. “In the context of keeping the team together, if there are decisions that need to be made, we’ll talk about it for sure.”
It's no secret that the 29-year-old is looking to re-sign with Golden State in the offseason, especially after winning a second NBA title in the last three years with the latter coming in dominating fashion holding an NBA-record 16-1 mark.

That said, Curry is in line to receive a max deal that spans five years worth $205 million. He is obviously looking to cash in a major way after completing a four-year, $44 million deal that now looks like a complete bargain for the caliber of player that he has become.
The more pressing question that will come about concerns Curry's willingness to take a bit of a pay cut from that total if it means keeping a key role player such as Andre Iguodala, who is set to also become a free agent this summer, under new a deal with the team. Keep in mind, Kevin Durant will be a free agent as well looking to land a lucrative offer from the team even though there is a belief he will take less than the max.
There are plenty of factors in play with Curry's next contract that could have a major impact on how the Warriors go about their other roster moves in the offseason.
