The NBA world was rocked after 5-time champion and former MVP Tim Duncan announced his retirement earlier today. From the press to current and former NBA players, all congratulated him after an illustrious career.

Now, another MVP paid tribute to The Big Fundamental. This time it's the reigning back-to-back winner, Stephen Curry. He had this to say via Twitter:

The Golden State Warriors may have had a record season with their 73-9 slate and reached the Finals each of the last two seasons, but Duncan's San Antonio Spurs have always been perennial contenders and were expected to contend year in and year out. In fact, Duncan's 19 seasons, he's made the playoffs every season.

The 40 year old hangs his jersey for good after a stellar career, all spent with the Spurs. He has won almost every award there is in the NBA including Rookie of the Year, regular season MVP, and Finals MVP.

Beyond all the accolades and honors he has received, it is quite obvious that the league will never be the same without Duncan, as he has always been the epitome of a a winning attitude and class of the NBA.

Truly, an end of an era.
