Even with the lack of success the Phoenix Suns have had so far this season, they could still end the campaign on a high note if they can string some wins together. They also have a bigger chance to do so, as their frontcourt will have more depth possibly starting this Thursday against the Utah Jazz.

It has been reported that Alan Williams could make his season debut for the team, as he has already been cleared to resume 5-on-5 scrimmages during practice. He is now listed as probable as well, according to Scott Bordow of AZ Central.

The 25-year-old UC Santa Barbara product has been on the shelf since the offseason due to a knee injury to repair a partially torn meniscus. He underwent surgery back in September to repair the meniscus in his right knee, and has since been rehabilitating it and on his way to recovery. After almost eight months, he has now been cleared by doctors, and has been progressing well.

Williams went undrafted back in 2015, but was still able to make the Suns’ roster later that year. Last season, he appeared in 47 games for them, and averaged decent numbers of 7.4 points and 6.3 rebounds in 15.1 minutes. At 6-foot-8, he has the ability to play both forward spots, which will give head coach Jay Triano more options up front. Williams’ return will also be important for him as it will prepare him for next season, where the Suns are expected to do their best to end up with a better record.
