The Phoenix Suns dropped Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans, 125-114. Amazingly, this was the 14th consecutive playoff loss for Chris Paul when referee Scott Foster officiated the game. The two have had a public feud that goes back over 10 years.

It's only been recent that the beef has become general public knowledge. Paul blasted Foster multiple times after some losses as a member of the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder. Foster most recently was also the official in Game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals. In that game, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Suns to claim the championship and Paul found himself in foul trouble all game.

But as much as people might want to point to Foster's curse as the reason for the Suns loss, Devin Booker's injury is more tangible.

Booker suffered what is being called a hamstring injury in the third quarter of Tuesday night's game. Booker was utterly dominant in the first half. The Suns guard scored 31 points before the break, knocking down 12 of his first 18 shots. That includes hitting seven shots from beyond the arc.

Suns coach Monty Williams said after the loss that the team would evaluate Booker tomorrow to determine his status. He's sure to have an MRI coming up to figure out the severity of the injury. Even if there is no structural damage and his hamstring is in tact, he likely will not be close to 100 percent any time soon.

Hamstring injuries tend to linger. With so much of Booker's game being reliant on his agility and ability to move with and without the ball, this could be a big blow to a Suns team with championship aspirations.
