Kelly Oubre Jr. has only played four games with the Phoenix Suns, but he is already one of the most popular guys in the locker room. In fact, rookie big man Deandre Ayton loves the energy he brings to the table.

The Suns acquired Kelly Oubre Jr. in the Trevor Ariza trade with the Washington Wizards. Deandre Ayton says the accountability and grit Oubre Jr. plays with makes him an easy guy to like.

“He has been playing super hard,” Ayton said of Oubre Jr, via Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype. “He is matching the same energy I have, that we all have. It is beautiful. He fits right in. You can tell he wants to win and he tries his best on defense as well. He is [getting] on me already! I don’t know how long he’s been here and he’s telling me to be more accountable and to just to take things more personally. I like that.”

Since arriving to Phoenix, Oubre Jr. is averaging 14.8 points per game while shooting 41.9 percent from the field and 47.4 percent from beyond the arc. The Suns are 2-2 with Oubre Jr. in the lineup.

Phoenix is only 9-26 on the season, 15th place in the Western Conference standings. Oubre Jr. will become a restricted free agent after this season ends.
