Devin Booker will likely suit up against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. According to Gina Mizell of The Athletic, Phoenix Suns head coach Igor Kokoskov says there is a “very good” chance that Booker plays against the Kings.
The 22-year-old shooting guard will return to action, after being sidelined the last two games with a hamstring injury.
Booker is the face of the Suns' franchise, not to mention the cornerstone of its formidable future – since signing him to a five-year, $158 million extension back in early July. A deal that will begin at the start of the 2019-20 campaign.
While on the court this year, Booker has more than hit his stride in the midst of his third NBA season. Phoenix on the other hand, hasn't fared as well.
The Suns are clearly going through serious growing pains. Still relatively early into their rebuilding stage, they are dead last in the brutal Western Conference standings at 11-46.
Booker has averaged 24.9 points on 46.3 percent shooting from the field, 6.7 assists, and 3.8 rebounds, in 42 games played this season.
He will also participate in the 3-point contest next Saturday night at NBA All-Star weekend in Charlotte, as he is currently dropping 2.1 threes per game on 32.4 percent from outside.
