The Phoenix Suns have endured a disastrous 2017-18 NBA season, to say the least. As a result, it seems the front office is about ready to shift gears toward the offseason.

There are a number of factors that have attributed to their nightmare season in terms of coaching and player personnel. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, general manager Ryan McDonough has already started focusing on their search for a new head coach.

The Phoenix Suns are beginning their search for a new head coach now, a process that will include interim coach Jay Triano, general manager Ryan McDonough told ESPN.

Although the Suns are currently tied for the worst record in the NBA at 19-53, interim head coach Jay Triano was dealt a bad hand from the start of the season. As a result, it seems Phoenix will put him on their list of candidates this offseason. The Suns had started the season with former head coach Earl Watson at the helm. However, his tenure lasted just three games into the year before he was fired and Triano was promoted. Needless to say, the team has not enjoyed much success since then.

Fortunately, their prospects bode well this summer with a bevy of potential head coaches set to hit the market. They have much to offer from a personnel standpoint with a future star in Devin Booker along with promising forwards Josh Jackson and TJ Warren. Furthermore, the Suns have plenty of cap space to go with three first-round picks in the upcoming 2018 NBA Draft. That said, Phoenix is hoping they can capitalize on these assets this offseason to help spark their strenuous rebuild.
