When the Phoenix Suns fired Ryan McDonough as their general manager back in October, James Jones stepped in to fill the role. Whether or not the Suns remain committed to Jones long term is in question, but if his current performance is any indication, Phoenix may be looking elsewhere for a general manager going into next season.

In an article published by ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz detailing the dysfunction inside the Suns' front office, it is revealed that Jones may not be all that diligent, as sources say that he frequently misses strategy and scouting meetings even when he isn't on the road.

Worse still, Jones apparently lacks leadership ability, most notably after the firing of McDonough in others prior to the season when Jones did not organize any meetings with staff to delegate responsibilities.

While Jones has provided guidance to Phoenix's players, he reportedly doesn't exhibit that same type of passion in the front office.

Basically, it seems that Jones does not even have much interest in being a leader in the Suns' organization, which makes you wonder just how much longer he will remain at his post.

Phoenix is currently in the midst of a disastrous 13-51 season and has not made the playoffs since 2010. Since then, the Suns have posted just one winning campaign, when they surprisingly tallied 48 wins during the 2013-14 season and narrowly missed the postseason.

They then proceeded to win 39 games the following year and have registered meager win totals of 23, 24 and 21, respectively, over the last three seasons.
