Night Dive Studios updates their Kickstarter blog to announce that pre-orders for System Shock Remake are coming this February.

SYSTEM SHOCK REMAKE COMING NEAR THE END OF FEBRUARY

Long-time fans anticipate the release of the System Shock Remake. Hit series Bioshock and Deus Ex find their roots and inspiration in System Shock, making it one of the most influential games of all time.Now, the cult classic will soon return to the screens of players. New players and veterans alike will be able to enjoy System Shock in a more modern engine.

According to Night Dive Studios, they will soon make System Shock pre-order available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Game Store towards the end of February. They will also release a final demo alongside the pre-order. They also revealed the game's pre-order bonus. Players who pre-order the game will be able to receive a free copy of System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition. Those who backed the project for $30 above will also receive a copy of System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition. It is worth noting that System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition will arrive at the same time as the System Shock Remake.

Night Dive Studios' Kickstarter page for System Shock Remake shows their development progress. So far, the game already looks polished and playable. Night Dive Studios improved the original System Shock's graphics with new models, textures, elements, and assets. Night Dive Studios also recorded new sound clips and voice lines to make the game sound more modern and updated.

System Shock was first released in 1994 and was developed by Looking Glass Technologies and published by Origin Systems. When Looking Glass Technologies folded in 2000, Night Dive Studios subsequently obtained the rights for the series in 2012. Looking Glass Technologies and Night Dive Studios have no relation with each other.

The System Shock Remake Kickstarter project currently has over 21,000 backers, with over $1.3 million pledged.
