Last week, Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich said he's not looking forward to making the last cut on the USA roster.

Popovich and his staff have to cut one player before departing from Australia to China for the FIBA World Cup.

According to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, Popovich might wait until the last second to make that final cut.

The Team USA roster is currently made up of Harrison Barnes, Jaylen Brown, Joe Harris, Kyle Kuzma, Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton, Donovan Mitchell, Mason Plumlee, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Myles Turner, Kemba Walker and Derrick White.

So far, Thaddeus Young and Bam Adebayo have been the only players cut from Team USA. Multiple players have stepped down on their own, with the latest being PJ Tucker, De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III.

Against Australia on Thursday, Popovich started Walker, Mitchell, Brown, Harris and Turner. It’s hard to guess which player out of the current 13-man roster is going to get cut.

Team USA has a lot of critics behind them since this team lacks superstar power.  The Americans have won the last two FIBA World Cups. If they don't win the gold this year, it would be a bad look for Team USA.
