USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo cited Sacramento Kings big man Marvin Bagley III and San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White as two players from the Select Team that have stood out over the last couple of days. The two youngsters could get a call-up to join the senior team in practice soon, as camp switches from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, according to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report.

Bagley's mix of skill, athleticism, and natural instinct have made him flourish in this environment, while White's speed, physicality, and court vision have been his meal ticket in scrimmages against Team USA's players.

Most recently De'Aaron Fox became the first name promoted to join the others in camp. Many expected Zion Williamson to be that first cog, but the rookie forward turned down the invitation after nursing an injury from Summer League and hoping to work on his fitness prior to the start of NBA training camp.

Bagley had a somewhat meek rookie season with the Kings, buried under Willie Cauley-Stein at the center position and mostly played at power forward, despite his 6-foot-10 frame and his otherworldly athleticism. Yet he showed enough potential to warrant a spot with USA Basketball, and it seems he's making the most of it.

White could benefit from a thin line of point guards available and could nab the third-string job under likely starter Kemba Walker if Kyle Lowry isn't cleared to play after undergoing thumb surgery. Lowry has sat out every practice since training camp started.
