Australia's Nick Kyrgios has made a shocking claim about Novak Djokovic and NBA superstar Kyrie Irving.

Many believe that sports and politics should never intertwine with each other but in today's world, some athletes feel the need to have their voices heard. Take Brooklyn Nets point guard and seven-time NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving as an example.

Irving has been very vocal about his stance on vaccination. While some are convinced that Irving has been effective in doing it thus far, ATP star Nick Kyrgios begged to disagree.

According to Kyrgios, it is true that Irving is globally recognized but his fellow tennis star and 20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic is “bigger” as far as impact and influence go.

Moreover, the former World No. 13 even claimed that ultimately, Djokovic and the entire tennis sport are “way bigger” than Irving and basketball.

“I mean, look Kyrie [Irving] is huge but Novak’s on a whole different level to Kyrie. Like, I think tennis globally, is way bigger,” Kyrgios said on the “No Boundaries Podcast” via Tennis World USA.

“Guys, I know for a fact that Novak’s bigger,” he continued. “Like I know for a fact like bro, this guy is like the king of Serbia. Like, think how big that place and Europe is in general.”

Irving is still one of the most celebrated basketball players in the world. Djokovic, on the other hand, is arguably the greatest male tennis player of his generation. Still, it is hard to appoint who's the bigger entity between the two colossal names in the sporting world.
