It appears that Roger Federer could believe that his best days are well behind him. After sitting out a whole year due to two different knee surgeries, the Swiss tennis star took on No. 75 ranked Pablo Andujar and despite winning the first set, Federer went on to lose the next four. This will likely be his only tune-up match on clay before the French Open starts, too.

Roger Federer talked to reporters about the possibility of winning the prestigious tournament.

“I think when you played so little and you know where your level is at, and I think you saw that today, how can I think of winning the French Open?” Federer said, via Reuters.

“I'm just realistic that I know I will not win the French and whoever thought I would or could win it is wrong.

“Of course, crazier things might have happened, but I'm not so sure in the last 50 years at the French Open, somebody just rocked up at 40-years-old, being out for a year and a half and just go on to just win everything straight.”

Roger Federer has only won the French Open once in his career, but he still has a boatload of majors in his trophy case. He's currently ranked No. 8 in the world but based on his confidence level for the tournament, Federer doesn't hold much hope.
