Texans QB C.J. Stroud knows ball. It is clear that not only is Stroud a great NFL QB, but he is a fan of the game. Stroud has made headlines multiple times in his young NFL career for his passionate and largely correct opinions on recent football history. Aaron Rodgers caught some flak from Stroud a couple of times during a recent interview.

Stroud recently appeared on an episode of the Million Dollar Worth of Game podcast. He spoke on a variety of topics, which included some strong opinions on NFL QBs who Stroud watched while growing up.

One opinion was that Stroud would prefer Eli Manning's career to Aaron Rodgers'. Stroud's logic is simple on one level — Eli Manning has more rings. It is easy to argue that championships are the most important thing in the NFL, which makes Manning a strong choice.

However, Stroud also suggested that Aaron Rodgers is not the best teammate, which may have held him back from winning more Super Bowls.

“You know what I think it is? I’ve talked to Tom Brady about this because he’s a good mentor to me. What he told me is his teammates, and how he treats his teammates. And that’s where I think it falls off for Rodgers,” Stroud said. “We don’t know how Aaron Rodgers treats his teammates, but you can guarantee that Tom Brady treats his teammates right because how he got those rings.”

Eli might have two Super Bowl rings, but Rodgers has a storied career of his own.

Rodgers has one Super Bowl ring and is a four-time MVP. He is also still playing in the NFL, so it is possible that he makes his resume even more impressive.

Texans QB Stroud also praised Matthew Stafford while shading Aaron Rodgers

Stroud also heaped praise on Matthew Stafford and suggested he could be a better QB than Aaron Rodgers.

Stroud gushed about Stafford's game and says that he watches a lot of film on him.

“Stafford, if he get another [Super Bowl], he might be up there with Brady and them,” Stroud said. “I'm a student of the game. Stafford a dawg, bro. … That's all I watch, I don't watch nobody else. I watch Mahomes, at times, because Mahomes does some stuff that you can't coach. Stafford, dawg, he will beat you with the same thing every time. All that no-look stuff, I got that from bruh (Stafford). I'm a fan of his. When I go to L.A., I be trying to find bro. We got the same trainers, I be trying to go where they working out and just watch. He's elite, dawg.”

He went on to suggest that Stafford would have more Super Bowl rings than Rodgers if he had a similar supporting cast.

“If you give Matthew Stafford a chance like Aaron Rodgers, I guarantee he might've had more rings, for sure,” Stroud concluded. “I’d say he would have like three or four [rings].”

While it is impossible to be sure about hypotheticals, Stroud does make an excellent point. Stafford struggled to win in the postseason with mediocre rosters in Detroit, then immediately won a Super Bowl in Los Angeles. It's fun to wonder how successful Stafford could have been if he were surrounded by a strong supporting cast for his entire career.
