Here's all I'll say… It's a damn good thing that the Houston Texans came away with the win and a Playoff berth on Saturday night, because if they hadn't, Texans tight end Dalton Schultz was sure to be one sour son of a gun.

Heading into the game, Dalton Schultz needed just six receptions to reach 60 for the season, which would trigger a $250,000 incentive in his contract. And while it certainly wasn't a guarantee that Schultz would or could pull in those receptions, finishing a game with at least six catches is something that he had done three times already this season. With CJ Stroud's weapons limited, it seemed like a good enough possibility that Schultz could make himself a quarter million dollars richer on Saturday night.

And then, well…

I'm not sure if this would feel more like a kick below the belt or a stomach punch, but either way, at some point in the night in the aftermath of the win over the Indianapolis Colts, even potentially in the midst of celebrating, it had to hit Dalton Schultz that he was just a single catch shy of giving his bank account a hefty boost.

Or maybe it didn't. Maybe a win of this magnitude is the perfect antidote for missing out on a $250,000 payday. Maybe it's something that won't hit Dalton Schultz until this improbable Texans run has come to an end. And as we learned last night, the Texans run will continue for at least one more week.
