With free agency becoming more and more lucrative by the season, free agent veteran Jamal Crawford publicly announced his desire to stay with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he has played since July 2012. In that span, Crawford won two Sixth Man of the Year awards under head coach and president, Doc Rivers. Crawford's consistency on the bench for the Clippers remains a strong reason for their recent success.

The 36-year old veteran now free agent has openly discussed his preference to sign with the Clips, yet Crawford also stated he will continue to “take every single call that comes in,” potentially causing some alarms for a Clippers organization intent on keeping this successful team together.

Crawford could potentially be a steal for any team looking to strengthen their bench and overall offense without eliminating large amounts of cap space in the process. Crawford led the Clippers in fourth quarter points with 341 to his name and often finished games despite starting them on the bench. Crawford also ranked 7th in the league in isolation points, showing his superstar quality on the offensive side.

Although Crawford stays adamant about staying in the Clippers organization under beloved head coach Doc Rivers, Crawford reminds Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders that he will “seriously look at every single team that has an interest in me”, regardless of the market that the team owns.

At the end of the day, however, Crawford's future most likely remains with Los Angeles for the years to come. Not only do the Clippers own the “Bird rights”, meaning that the Clippers could offer more than any other team, but they also remain heavy in the veteran's heart and mind. In J.J. Reddick‘s (a fellow teammate of Jamal Crawford on the Clippers) Yahoo Sports podcast, Crawford told the audience, “I would love to stay here. To break through with this core group would mean everything.”
