It has been six years since All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony left the Denver Nuggets via a trade to the New York Knicks.

However, he has hasn't much success playing back at the Pepsi Center in the years that have followed Anthony as Friday's loss to the Nuggets marks the straight defeat in as many games.

Anthony put together a strong performance against his former team with a game-high 28 points that included six 3-pointers in the loss. Since his departure from the Nuggets, it has been a struggle for him to find any consistent level of success in another uniform as he has just three playoff appearances.

The Oklahoma City Thunder appear to be his best chance of competing for an NBA title playing alongside reigning league MVP Russell Westbrook and fellow All-Star Paul George. However, the Thunder are off to a slow start out of the gate to the season with a 5-7 record including dropping four out of the last five games.

Oklahoma City possesses a talented roster headed by their dynamic trio that should help lead them out of their early-season funk. In the meantime, it is clear that Anthony is still having trouble garner success at his old stomping grounds.
