Oklahoma City Thunder forward Carmelo Anthony decided to opt into his player option for next season with OKC worth $27.9 million.

It was a pretty easy decision for Anthony who isn't finding that kind of money had he decided to hit free agency.

It puts the Thunder in a tougher spot, although not unexpected, in having that kind of deal on the books. It's so much that it'd even be difficult for the Thunder to find a suitor willing to eat that kind of money for one season.

Since the decision became official, Anthony has posted for the first time on Twitter in reference to the move.

Yep. Melo can be happy about nearly $28 million more in his pockets for next year.

It will be interesting to see how he does in his second season with the Thunder and if OKC explores the possibility of moving him at any point.
