Boston Celtics small forward Marcus Morris believes his brother, Markieff Morris, is a huge addition for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Marcus says the Thunder didn't have a player like Markieff and claims his brother is going to help OKC battle it out with the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference playoffs.

The Thunder signed Markieff Morris for the rest of the season after the veteran swingman was waived by the New Orleans Pelicans. Markieff began the season with the Washington Wizards. Washington traded him to New Orleans at the trade deadline.

Markieff is averaging 11.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season. The 29-year-old is shooting 43.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 78.1 percent from the free-throw line.

OKC's newest small forward has been cleared to play basketball again after meeting with a neck specialist in Los Angeles a few weeks ago. Markieff hasn't played in an NBA game since Dec. 26.

The Thunder are 37-20 on the season, good for third place in the Western Conference standings. The team now has four versatile scorers in small forward Paul George, point guard Russell Westbrook, Markieff Morris and backup point guard Dennis Schroder.

Markieff will make his Thunder debut on Friday at home against the Utah Jazz.
