Corey Brewer told Paul George about his experience with the Los Angeles Lakers when the two played together on the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

George and Brewer were teammates on the Thunder for the second half of the 2017-18 season. PG never took a meeting with the Lakers in free agency and re-signed with OKC on a four-year deal.

George never gave the Lakers an opportunity to take their shot. But he had a wealth of information available to him about the inner workings of the Lakers without ever hearing a word from Magic Johnson. For example, George played in Oklahoma City with Corey Brewer in the second half of the 2017-18 season, after Brewer was waived by L.A. in February. Brewer divulged his Lakers experience to George, sources said.

It doesn't look like Brewer told George anything negative about the Lakers. George just really liked what the Thunder were building and loved playing with former MVP Russell Westbrook.

Brewer played in 78 games for the Lakers.

George clearly made the right decision to stay with the Thunder. He's having the best statistical season of his career in 2018-19.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, is going to miss the playoffs in the first season of the LeBron James era.
