Murray State point guard Ja Morant, who is going to be a lottery pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, says Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook is his favorite player in the NBA.

Morant says he's a big fan of Westbrook's all-around game and wants to play like that once he gets to the NBA.

“I just like his all-around game,” Morant told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “Doing points, rebounds, assists. I just like everything he does on the floor. That's really how I try to play. Doing anything I can to help my team win. If I gotta score the ball, rebound the ball, make plays for my teammates.”

Westbrook averaged a triple-double in 2018-19 for the third consecutive season. The explosive Thunder guard put up 22.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists per game. Russ recorded 34 triple-doubles in 73 games.

Morant averaged 24.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 10.0 assists for Murray State this past season, so you can tell he plays a lot like Westbrook already.

Ja isn't as electric as Westbrook is, but he has all the tools to be a tremendous NBA player. Whichever team drafts Morant is hoping he can carve out a career similar to the one Westbrook has had with the Thunder.
