The Oklahoma City Thunder averted disaster on Tuesday night as they put up a tremendous effort in a road win against the Boston Celtic. OKC was on the brink of setting a new franchise record for most consecutive losses — one that has been infamously held by Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook — but Lu Dort made sure that this wasn't going to happen.

After the game, Dort admitted that he knew about the record. He actually used it as motivation to ensure that the Thunder weren't going to lose their 15th straight game on Tuesday (h/t Brandon Rahbar of the Daily Thunder):

The last time OKC lost 15 straight was during Durant and Westbrook's earlier years with the franchise:

Dort was amazing in this one, scoring a team-high 24 points on 5-of-14 shooting and 11-of-13 from the line. He also logged four rebounds, two assists, and a block in 35 minutes of action as he pretty much put the Thunder on his back.

For his part, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to watch from the sidelines as he nurses a right foot injury. SGA is dealing with plantar fascitis and there is no firm timetable for his return. At this point, it would not be surprising if OKC decides to shut him down for the remainder of the season. It's a good thing he has Lu Dort to cheer him up every once in a while.

This was an undeniably huge win for the Thunder, but it does not take away from the fact that they have been terrible this season. Right now, OKC fans can't wait for the campaign to end.
