The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed 2018 second-round pick Devon Hall to a two-way contract, according to Yahoo! Sports Senior NBA Insider Chris Haynes.

Oklahoma City selected Hall after the four-year player at the University of Virginia had a breakout campaign in his senior season when Hall averaged 11.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists for the Cavaliers.

Hall played in 10 games for the Thunder's G League affiliate, averaging 7.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game on just over 21 minutes per contest. Hall also shot 42.5 percent from beyond the arc on 4.5 attempts per game.

The former UVA redshirt is likely to spend most–if not all–of the 2019-20 NBA season in the G League once again, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Oklahoma City find themselves in a massive transition phase. This will be the first season–since the team moved to OKC from Seattle–that none of Kevin Durant, James Harden or Russell Westbrook will take the floor for the franchise after Westbrook was traded to the Houston Rockets.

Though the Thunder will be counting on veteran point guard Chris Paul to mentor some of the youngsters and play at a high level, it is unlikely that OKC can reach the playoffs in a loaded Western Conference.

Interestingly enough, Hall looks like the kind of perimeter shooter that the Thunder so desperately lacked in each of their last two playoff defeats at the hands of the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers, respectively.

Given that the Thunder and general manager Sam Presti are more intent on loading up for the future, it is logical they would give Hall another shot to make a mark on the NBA's proving ground.
