Oklahoma City Thunder superstar small forward Paul George told local reporters on Thursday he talked with Nike to see what went wrong with Duke phenom Zion Williamson's shoe on Wednesday night.

Williamson was wearing the Nike PG 2.5 PE, which is a signature shoe of George's. The six-time All-Star says he takes pride in having a good shoe and hopes Williamson's injury isn't too serious:

It was pretty crazy to see what happened to Williamson's shoe on Wednesday. It literally tore into pieces after the 19-year-old tried to explode to the basket.

Zion is 285 pounds and built like Superman. It could be a case where he's just too big and strong for his own good, but nevertheless, it's good to see Paul George taking initiative with this situation to find out how he can improve his shoe. The swingman has one of the most popular basketball shoes in the world, and a lot of NBA players wear them as well.

George is going to be in the spotlight for the next few days. He was bashed on social media on Wednesday night since it was his shoe Williamson got injured in. The Thunder's leading scorer has other things to worry about, though, as OKC is looking to go on a championship run this season.
