With All-Star weekend upon us, it's a good time for media to ask NBA stars questions they usually wouldn't ask after a pregame shootaround or in the post game.
There have been a lot of interesting questions asked across the board, but with Paul George being from Los Angeles, he has drawn a bigger media presence than some of the other guys. Fred Katz of the Norman Transcript asked one of those questions:
Paul George said if he could pick one other All-Star to play with, it'd be Victor Oladipo. Why? “He’s a really, really, really, really, really good player.”
That is a really interesting choice for a couple of reasons. Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis went from the Oklahoma City Thunder to Indiana Pacers last summer in a trade that sent Paul George back to the Thunder.
Article Continues BelowOne could say that was the trade that ultimately unlocked all of Oladipo's talents. Oladipo has always been a talented player, but he really put all of his game together this year with the Pacers.
For the Pacers this year, he has averaged 24.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. He was also selected for his first All-Star game this year, but if he keeps up this place, it won't be his last.
It's also interesting that George didn't go after one of the more household names. He could have easily taken Stephen Curry or LeBron James, but instead, he selected a guy that looks to be a budding superstar.
When the trade between the two teams was made before the season, the Thunder looked like the clear winner, but after a little over a half a season done, that doesn't look to be such a sure thing anymore.
