The Phoenix Suns traded Ricky Rubio to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Chris Paul, and Rubio isn't happy about it.

Rubio only lasted one season with the Suns after signing a three-year, $51 million deal with them in 2019. The veteran point guard recently talked to Marca.com about the Thunder-Suns trade and it's clear Rubio is still upset.

Translation via Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic:

“It was a surprise, especially because of the communication that there has been,” Rubio said in marca.com. “When the rumors about my transfer, I called my people and they told me that my name was not on the table.”

Turns out his name was.

Rubio understands the NBA is a business, but the trade is definitely bothering him.

“By signing a contract, you accept the conditions, but there are ways and forms,” Rubio said in. “Players are privileged, but those who are in charge of these things have to understand that, in addition of players, we are also people “

The Suns traded Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre Jr., Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and a 2022 first-round pick to the Thunder for Chris Paul and Abdel Nader, pairing the future Hall of Fame point guard with Devin Booker.

Rubio will be playing for his third different team in three seasons starting in 2020-21. He was on the Utah Jazz in 2018-19 and, of course, the Suns last season.

With the Suns, Rubio averaged 13.0 points and 8.8 assists per game. He will play with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the Thunder's backcourt now.
