Russell Westbrook is one of the best players in the league, but even the best players have places they can improve. The Oklahoma City Thunder have had problems taking that next step since Kevin Durant left, but if everyone on the team improves just a little bit this team has the key pieces in place to compete for a title.

During his season-ending interview Thunder general manager Sam Presti was asked how Westbrook could improve this off-season, via Erik Horne of The Oklahoman.

“RW is focused on becoming a better 3-point shooter, sees the work he puts in late night in gym. “One thing I can tell you about Westbrook: He’s driven. He’s not going to kick his feet up and expect things to be different.”

For Westbrook, he is a guy better with the ball in his hands and not as good on the catch and shoot situations. This past year Westbrook attempted 1.1 shots per game from deep on the catch and shoot averaging 36.0 percent on those attempts.

If he was able to improve his three-point shooting percentage, especially on the catch and shoot that is just going to make him even that more dangerous.

It would open up for others to handle the ball, especially if Paul George came back, and that would allow Westbrook to play off the ball a bit more.

For the Thunder, this is going to be an interesting summer with a lot of people around Westbrook maybe changing. One thing is for sure though, Westbrook will be back next year, and better than ever.
