Russell Westbrook has once again forged his name in the history books, as he becomes only the fourth player to record 100 triple-doubles in his NBA career.

The NBA's official Twitter account tweeted the historical event and congratulated Westbrook in his remarkable feat.

With a career total of 100 triple-doubles so far, Westbrook joins the ranks of NBA legends Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and Jason Kidd. Kidd, who has 107 triple doubles, is the next target for Westbrook. He may eventually pass him before the season ends if he keeps this pace.

Westbrook seems to be synonymous with the triple-double, as observed over the past few years. To recall, the 29-year-old Thunder star logged in a triple-double average last season, notching 31.6 points, 10.4 assists, and 10.7 rebounds per contest.

It was a landmark feat as he became only one of two players in NBA history to average a triple-double for the season. The first player to accomplish this was Oscar Robertson way back in 1962.

For his efforts, Westbrook was eventually named MVP last season. And perhaps more importantly, he cemented his place in history as one of the best all-around players in the game.

Right after Kevin Durant left for the Golden State Warriors, Westbrook seemed to be on a mission to rack up the statistics and the wins. It's only after Durant left that Westbrook seems to have realized his full potential.

It was a much-publicized falling-out between superstars. Though some might agree that it could have been for the better. Durant seems happy with the Warriors. He finally got his championship ring, after all. All eyes are now set on Westbrook who's resume will only be complete with a championship to boot.
