Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook seemed a bit frustrated after Tuesday night's 117-106 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. In fact, the six-time All Star left — without speaking to members of the media.

The Thunder, now losers in four of their last six games, found themselves trailing the Trail Blazers by four points at the end of the first half. However, it was the third quarter when Portland made their proverbial hay, as they outscored Oklahoma City by eight points.

Westbrook, now 29 years of age, finished Tuesday night's game with 22 points on 7-of-20 shooting from the field (1-of-3 from beyond the arc), 12 assists, and nine rebounds in 35 minutes of action.

Though Westbrook did not participate in Tuesday's post-game media session, Thunder newcomers Paul George and Carmelo Anthony did. Both were asked about team defense and effort.

“We're just not getting it done,” George told reporters after Tuesday night's loss to the Trail Blazers. “We just gotta get better on that end (of the floor).”

Anthony noted that Oklahoma City's effort could be a potential issue.

“We gotta figure out a way to not allow (a lack of effort) to happen,” Anthony said. “Maybe know that it's there. Maybe understand that it happens throughout the course of a season, but try to fix it, try to do some things where we do bring the energy, we do bring the effort. We should never have a lack of effort out there. I don't think that's the case, but we should be able to find the energy to go out there and compete on a night-to-night basis.

“It happens,” Anthony said in closing. “The good thing is that we play tomorrow in Minnesota. We've got an opportunity to go get another big win on the road.”

Without a doubt, the Thunder will be looking for a better defensive performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
